Thanks for Believing in Our Mission

We are grateful for all our volunteers do to give people who need a second chance the opportunity to succeed at sobriety, stability, and self-reliance. In 2009, 76 volunteers gave over 2,500 hours of volunteer time. Our deepest thanks for all the help and enrichment you brought to residents and staff.

Are you interested in volunteering with Cabrini Partnership? Here are a few of the many ways you can get involved:

Neighbor to Neighbor: Assist people as they move into a new apartment by helping them select furnishings at Bridging and secure household items. This is an individual or small group volunteer opportunity. Training will be provided.

Computer Skills Tutor: Can relate your computer skills to others who want to learn the basics of operating a computer? We are looking for a volunteer instructor to lead one on one or small group trainings on how to navigate the Internet, use a mouse, set up an email account, copy and paste into a document and use Microsoft Word and Excel programs.

Mentoring: Help clients develop life skills and accomplish goals, hopes and dreams. Time commitment to suit the client’s needs and yours-from weekly to less often. Training provided.

GED Tutor: Assist clients in one-on-one or small group setting with learning specific subjects, such as composition, math, reading skills.

Cook and Serve: This is a favorite activity of families and small groups and usually requires two to three hours of your time (depending on the meal you want to prepare). Food may be prepared in your home and brought to Cabrini’s transitional house and served or cooked in our kitchen and served. This activity serves the 23 residents in our Transitional House.

Office Volunteer: Work with both clients and staff in a variety of office tasks, such as, answering the phone, greeting visitors, filing, assisting with mailings. The time commitment can vary each week and can be either at our Transitional Housing or Permanent Supportive Housing offices.

Leisure Time Activities Volunteer: Like to take a walk, play games or just come in to talk? Our clients would enjoy spending some free time with you. This volunteer activity can be done on a regularly scheduled or occasional basis during the day, evenings or weekends.

Serve on a Committee for Fund Raising, Special Events or Marketing: Committees usually meet every other month for about an hour and a half.
