Thanks for Believing in Our Mission
We are grateful for all that our volunteers have done to give people who need a second chance the opportunity to succeed at sobriety, stability, and self-reliance. In 2006, 62 volunteers gave over 2,000 hours. Our deepest thanks for all the help and enrichment that you brought to residents and staff.
Are you interested in volunteering with Cabrini Partnership? Here are a few of the many ways you can get involved:
Neighbor to Neighbor: Assist people as they move into a new apartment. This includes helping them select furnishings at Bridging; securing household items and providing friendship, guidance and support as the individual adjusts to a new neighborhood and surroundings. This is an individual or small group volunteer opportunity. Initial contact once a week for the first four to six weeks. Training will be provided.
Mentoring: Help clients develop life skills and accomplish goals, hopes and dreams. Initial contact can be negotiable between you and the client, based on need.
Cook and Serve: This group or family activity may be done in your home and brought to Cabrini Partnership and served or cooked in our kitchen and served. It is a favorite activity of families and small groups, and it usually requires two to three hours of your time (depending on the meal you want to prepare). This activity would serve the 23 residents in our Transitional House.
Data Entry and Office Work: Establish interview times with prospective residents, place phone calls to residents on the “wait list,” assist case manager and provide support for numerous other tasks. The time commitment is a minimum four hours a week at our Transitional Housing office.
Serve on a Committee for Fund Raising, Special Events or Marketing: Committees usually meet every other month for about an hour and a half.
